Based on the volume of Purchase Orders/$amount transacted Ariba would convert a standard account to an Enterprise account.
It's also almost impossible to get returned to a standard account from an Enterprise account.
If anybody has had success please share!

There are some companies that choose to pay the Supplier fees, but those are few and far between.
We have issues with receiving every PO for every other State agency (since we share a Tax ID number) and I've been trying to get that fixed for over 7 years with no success.

Hi Chris and Jennifer,

I believe you have an Enterprise account with Ariba, which is why you’re being charged.  A Standard account is free.  If you’re using Ariba to invoice sponsors, I think the Standard account is sufficient.

Best regards,

Dan

Subject: [RESADM-L] SAP Ariba portal questions and concerns

We have had to use the Ariba (now SAP Ariba) portal for 10+ years to conduct invoicing for mostly corporate sponsors (but also at least one University).

Over the past 10 years, we have incurred $1000s of dollars in fees for activity in this portal.

The use of this portal and its subsequent fees were not disclosed at any point of the proposal or award negotiation stage by several of these customers. We have not been able to get the fees waived because of our public university status or paid by the sponsor whose activity is generating them. We have also been unsuccessful in adding the fees to our budget to cover the expense when we know the sponsor will require us to use the Ariba portal.

Over the past 6 months, several more sponsors have required us to complete questionnaires in this portal in order for us to invoice them for sponsored programs. FYI: Two of the new customers are national labs (FFRDCs).

I am struggling with all of the above, as using this portal is very challenging on many levels.

How are other institutions managing the SAP Ariba portal challenges, requirements, and fees?
