Executive Director Research Operations
Department: Research Operations
Schedule: Full Time
The Executive Director Research Operations is responsible for the comprehensive management and administration of the research and sponsored program portfolio at Boston Medical Center (BMC), consisting of approximately $85M annually in direct
and indirect revenue (both research and sponsored programs). The Executive Director has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Institutional Official for Research (currently BMC's Chief Medical Officer) and has administrative responsibility for managing
the relationship with Boston University (BU). BU and BMC share certain services that support their research program, including the Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Intellectual Property and Research Compliance. The Executive
Director serves as Chair of the Research Leadership Committee and leads its efforts accordingly. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with administrative and physician leadership across the multiple sites.
The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the daily management and reporting of all research grants, contracts and agreements including Pre Award, Post Award, Research Finance, Clinical Trial Agreements, Indirect & Fringe Cost Rate Proposals, Internal
Audit reviews and the Uniform Guidance (formerly A-133) Audits. Responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, reducing and resolving all financial, compliance and accounting related issues, while overseeing all related policies, procedures and processes.
Senior Manager Research Finance
Department: Research
Schedule: Full-Time
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Research, the Senior Manager Research Finance is responsible for establishing and overseeing a control environment for post award grant and financial management for federal, foundation and industrial sponsors.
Responsible for overseeing and managing recruitment, professional advancement and development, outcome measures and performance evaluation of Research Finance staff. Represents BMC as the Institutional Signature Authority for all research related financial
reporting, prior approval requests and other post award documents. Responsible for the completion of the annual Boston Medical Center Uniform Guidance audit, and the annual State UFR Audit. Oversees cash management of all sponsored activities which includes
requesting funds via Federal letter of credit cash management system, invoicing, AR aging, deposits, ACH and wire transfers and postings. Develops and implements policies governing the conduct of grant and contract financial management.
Research Education and Training Program Manager

Reporting directly to the Boston Medical Center (BMC) Senior Director, Research Operations with close working relationships with Research Operations and Research Compliance leadership, the Research Education and Training Program Manager
will provide oversight and direction of the BMC research education and training program. The Manager will have prior experience developing and leading workforce education and training programs in a healthcare setting, preferably focused on research. The Manager
will develop, maintain, and execute a research onboarding, education, and training workplan, to include success measures and metrics, updated annually. The Manager will maintain a research education and training library, coordinate training content development
with applicable Subject Matter Experts and maintain the education and training platform. The manager will also work to develop, coordinate, and facilitate ongoing research programs, BMC research training events and programs and departmental trainings as outlined
in the annual workplan.
Research Finance Analyst
Department: Research Administration

The Research Finance Analyst I provides accounting and analytical support to the Research Finance team and communicates findings to Research Finance Analysts II. Works with the management team on individual projects as needed. Additionally,
with a small sponsored projects portfolio the Research Finance Analyst I will serve as a contact for department administrators, principal investigators and BMC central research administration about the fiscal management of grants and contracts in accordance
with government regulations, donor requirements, and Hospital policy. The Research Finance Analyst I is responsible for analysis of accounts and communication with the BMC research community, sponsors and central BMC research administration personnel.
