Good Morning,

 

My institution is moving to a new financial management system and during one of our discovery sessions budgeting by person vs. category at award was discussed.  Currently we budget by person at proposal and award. 

 

Ongoing discussions are occurring about budgeting by category instead of by person at award and I would like to know what other institutions find to be the best practice.  Pros and cons for either method are appreciated.
