Wichita State University (WSU) is seeking a Senior Export Control and Conflict of Interest Officer (ECO) to implement, administer, and oversee the university’s export control compliance programs.  The ECO will be responsible for the development and effective implementation of the University’s policies and procedures to ensure the University’s industry, research and scholarly activities are conducted in compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations including but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions programs, and National Security Decision Directive 189 (NSDD189). 

 

The ECO will work in partnership with multiple university departments including, but not limited to the Office of Research, the National Institute of Aviation Research (NIAR), Information Technology Services, Information Security, and the Office of General Counsel.

 

The ECO may be appointed by the University as the Empowered Official and is expected to have the necessary understanding of export control laws and regulations to serve in this role if the University chooses to make this appointment.
