Ditto on the 424B

Good morning,

We also did as Megan outlined.

In addition to that, the application checklist includes the SF424B, however the form didn’t come with the application package.

After checking with the program officer and contact agent, we signed and uploaded the form in the “other attachment” section.

Checking back to the last round of Trio application (in 2016), the Form SF424B was requested and also included in the package.

To be on the safe side, I suggest you upload it in the “Other Attachments” section.

Best,

Nazareth

Our Director went to a training workshop, so she went with what they told her regarding the numerous inconsistencies. I will give you that info below, but I suggest you check in with your PO.

1. She included the budget narrative in both places.

2. She completed budget yr 1

3. She single spaced tables and charts

4. we describe commitments in the project narrative and keep letters on file (but not submitted)

Anyone working on submitting a TRIO Talent Search application? There are several inconsistencies within the application instructions. I am wondering if anyone else has gotten clarification or how folks are proceeding.

  1. Application instructions say that the budget narrative should be part of the application narrative. In one spot it says it counts toward the page limit and in another it says it does not. Further complicating matters, the grants.gov application includes a separate budget narrative attachment form as a required form.
  2. In one section it says the US ED Budget Form should be completed for all years in another section it says to only include year 1.
  3. The application narrative must be doubled spaced. In one section it says tables, charts, etc can be single spaced in another section it specifically says everything, including tables, charts, etc must be double spaced.
  4. In one spot it says not to include commitment letters from partners in another spot it says the application must include commitments from partners (it does not use the word letters but how else do you include a commitment)?

I know US Dept of ED instructions tend to be long and somewhat confusing but I am not sure I have seen one that contradicts itself so many times! Any insight is welcome!
