The stipend is awarded to the faculty directly for two summer months and does not flow through their IHE. There is the required institutional nomination and that processes to engage in, which I believe you referred to.

I just had my first experience with the NEH Summer Stipend program and am wondering if anyone would share their experience on how those are managed at your institution? Also, it wasn’t clear to me from the various resources, but if awarded is the stipend issued to the faculty member directly?
