So he did mean 10% FTE/year or 1.2 calendar months per year (for a total of 3.6 calendar months). Well, at least that's what his budget said, even if it is not what he meant!

Good luck!

That’s how I read it. That’s not how the PI reads it.  The other caveat is that it’s a transfer award, and his original budget justification on the original award references 1.2 cal months a year.  It’s the budget where he shows 3.6 cal months.

If the PI meant 3.6 months/year, then  you would enter 10.8 calendar months. If the PI meant 3.6 months over the entire course of  the project, then you would enter 1.2 calendar months. The budget for the R15 is one budget period with the total budget for all 3 years.

Question regarding interpreting effort on a project, especially an R15.  If the PI puts down 3.6 calendar months, to me that is a 30% effort on the whole project. Since an R15 is a 3 year award, and you show the whole budget for the 3 years together in total, is it still considered 30% for the whole 3 years or 10% a year?

Thanks

Matt
