Speaker Proposal Submission Deadline: Friday, March 13


The Michigan Chapter of the Society of Research Administrators International is seeking subject experts to present at the 2020 Michigan Chapter Annual Meeting to be held on Friday, June 12, 2020.
 
Presenting at the 2020 Michigan Chapter Annual Meeting provides an excellent opportunity for personal professional development!  Benefits include: increasing exposure, enhancing presentation skills, sharing learning experiences, and networking with other research administrators in Michigan and the surrounding areas.

Identified session topics are:


  • Professional Development: Sessions centered on the topic of professional development to enhance your Research Administration career.

  • Compliance: Sessions dealing with all things compliance-related, from protocol management, to human subjects, to dealing with the new common rule.

  • Leadership & Management: Sessions geared toward current and aspiring managers or leaders, including topics such as team management, selecting the best staff, and leading service centers.

  • Research Administration Fundamentals: Sessions including all things pre-award and post-award.

  • General Research Administration: Sessions centered on general research administration, which could include anything from best practices in Research Administration to assisting faculty with searching for funding opportunities.


If you are interested in submitting a proposal to present, please complete the online form linked below by Friday, March 13, 2020.  The Planning and Executive Committees will review all proposals and will notify all speakers of proposal selection status no later than March 27, 2020.


While we have identified session tracks for our conference, we are open to all ideas for sessions. Please do not hesitate to reach out to xxxxxx@gmail.com if you have any questions or ideas for sessions. We are more than willing to help pair speakers together!

Who Should Submit a Proposal?
Anyone with any level of research administration knowledge, who has a great topic, is a candidate to speak at Michigan Chapter meetings!  As we get attendees of all kinds, we need speakers of all kinds. In all ways and manners, we try to assemble the most diverse meeting we can, and we do that only with your help. We welcome first-time presenters, as well as those with previous presentation experience. The Michigan Chapter has a particular aim to encourage individuals who have never presented at a session before to submit a proposal. You don't need to be a professional speaker to be part of the Michigan Chapter Annual Meeting. What matters is your topic, your materials, and your drive to present to the research administration community!
