I do this as well.  Not only can you save the letters in the order that you prefer, but I often create a cover page that lists them so that a reviewer will know what’s coming.  I started that many years ago when I was working on an ERC proposal where we have different categories of letter writers (i.e. industry, community colleges, local government). It was easier to organize as one PDF with one cover page and section dividers.

Yes, I always do that too. I got into the habit because often the PI wants the letters in a certain order and I found a few years ago that sometimes Fastlane would rearrange them if I uploaded them separately. I don't know if that's still the case with Research.gov but it's better to be safe than sorry.

It is fine to combine them.  I always do.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Uploading Letters of Collaboration to NSF's Fastlane - one pdf or separate pdfs?

Hi there,

We are working on an AccelNet proposal due to NSF tomorrow. We have many letters of collaboration and were wondering if the group thinks it's OK to combine them all into one pdf and upload that one doc to Fastlane's "Other Supplementary Docs" section, or should we upload each one separately? The PAPPG provides details about what text the letters should include, but not about uploading. In the past, I think we've uploaded letters separately, but  now we have many more for this proposal.

Thanks for any insights,

Amanda
