The Research Division at Ohio University in collaboration with Academic Colleges is pleased to announce that Dr. John Robertson* from the Grant Writers’ Seminars & Workshops ( www.grantcentral.com) will be conducting an all-day workshop focused on writing competitive NSF grants.

 

Date: Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

Location: TBD, Athens Campus, Athens Ohio

 

Date: Workshop Details:

The workshop will be split into two sessions:

  1. General NSF grants:  8:30 am – 12:00 pm
  2. NSF Career grants:  1:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Lunch Break: 12:00-1:00 pm

People interested in NSF Career grants should attend both sessions.

People wanting an NSF refresher can attend the first session.

Dr. Robertson received his doctoral degree in 1999 from The University of Texas at Austin in pharmacology and toxicology. From 1999-2003 he served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. He then went to the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2004 where he was a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutics, and an associate member of the University of Kansas Cancer Center. In 2010 he was recruited to teach grantsmanship by Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops. Dr. Robertson has been the recipient of competitive extramural funding from the federal and non-federal sources. He has authored 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and three book chapters. He’s been a member of grant review panels, a reviewer for biomedical journals, and served on editorial boards. In addition, he has been routinely recognized for excellence in teaching.
