The ASU Knowledge Enterprise is seeking an experienced research administrator to join the Research Advancement Services
(RAS) department at Arizona State University (ASU).
RAS is a centrally shared services unit that provides departmental administrative support to specifically assigned units across the university, including administrative units (e.g., the ASU Police Department) and academic units (e.g., WP Carey School of Business).
RAS is a high-functioning team of 6-7 individuals focused on quality customer service, with built-in leadership support and professional development opportunities.

as well a broad range of research administration topics and issues, operational strategies, and leadership topics and practices.
In this position, your role will primarily be pre-award, with some post-award administration and outreach. Supported by the RAS Team Lead, you will assist investigators on appropriate sponsor guidelines and university policies fostering a supportive environment.
For many proposals, you will work with individual faculty and/or department staff to develop proposals. In other instances, you will also support proposals that are high-profile, involve teams of investigators and project or proposal managers, and/or incorporate
multiple subcontractor institutions.
Essential Duties
·
Develop administrative components of proposals for a wide variety of funding agencies, including federal sponsors, corporate entities, philanthropic funders,
and local governmental agencies.
·
Provide RA leadership on specialized opportunity proposals (i.e., high-profile, strategic, multi-institution, and/or multi-million dollar initiatives);
·
Prepare Microsoft Excel spreadsheets involving multiple worksheets and integrated budget summaries when required by the sponsor as part of compliant proposal
submission;
·
Assist with post submission action items requested by the sponsor such as revised budgets, completion of sponsor forms, etc.;
·
Utilize& Liaise with ASU resources and offices to resolve issues related to cost-sharing, international engagement, and subcontracting;
·
Analyze award documents and advise RAS-assigned faculty and staff on non-financial award management issues, facilitating problem resolution with faculty,
internal offices, sub-recipients, and sponsors;
·
With support from the RAS Post-award Lead, guide units/investigators assigned to RAS in their financial and transactional post-award responsibilities;
·
Develop and maintain working relationships with faculty, researchers, unit personnel, Sponsored Project Office representatives, and members of the ASU Research
Advancement Community;
·
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of experience in a field appropriate to the area/unit of assignment
OR Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
·
Demonstrated knowledge of administrative sponsored project proposal development and/or award administration;
·
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on collaboration and a high level of customer service;
·
Experience in understanding user needs, requirements, and requests;
·
Evidence of problem-solving, critical thinking and time management skills;
·
Experience in working on multiple projects while producing accurate output.
·
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant computer applications: Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), ASU’s Enterprise Research Administration
(ERA, based on Huron Click) system and/or similar grants management systems, Workday,Research Analytics and Research Technology Office Reports (Monthly Pivot Table, and Tableau Reports), PeopleSoft, FastLane/Research.gov, Grants.gov, NIH era commons.)

Experience in working collaboratively with a team as well as manage workload independently.
