At UCF, we do not split the rate if there is a chance during the project period.  We keep the rate at what was originally proposed.

If the rate changes between proposal and award, we keep the rate we used at proposal.

If we have an add on or continuation to a proposal, and the rate has changed, we still use the rate we originally proposed.

I have some awards that are still using the rate from 3 approvals ago.

Thanks.

Vicky

Subject: [RESADM-L] F&A rate - budgeting mid-year rate change

Hello!

I am curious to know for those of you that have an F&A rate that changes throughout the negotiated rate agreement, how do you budget a mid-year F&A rate change?  Do you split the rate as shown below in my example or do you budget the entire period at 54%?  If you do split the F&A rate, do have a BUDGET TOOL you would be willing to share that handles this calculation easily?

F&A Rate Agreement Dates:  7/01/2019-6/30/2021 =54%,

                                                     7/01/2021 -6/30/2022 = 56%

Example Project Period

10/01/2020 – 9/30/2021    RATE = 54% (9 months of period) 56% (3 months of period)

Appreciate your feedback!  You can email me offline if you want xxxxxx@cmh.edu.

Thank you!
