We have a web-based system that pulls all of the proposal and award info and puts it into a Word document that looks very similar to the Word doc that Rebecca included earlier.

I generally discourage PIs and administrators from using these types of templates.  They aren’t required and they make everything unnecessarily complicated.  We just list the required information in a basic format, like this:

Project Title: Something really special (this proposal)

Source of Support:  NSF

Project Location: University of California, San Diego

Total Award Period: 9/1/2013 – 8/31/2019

Total Award Amount: $650,000

Person-months Per Year: 0.8 mo

Hi Cheryl,

We have successfully used the attached template for a research.gov submission. I hope it is helpful!

Best,

Rebecca

Hi all,

Has anyone created a current and pending support template that is compatible with research.gov for NSF submissions? I’m contemplating creating one because faculty that use the old template (NSF form 1239) run into tons of warnings/errors with margins, spacing, font size, etc. When we try to re-format the old template to work with research.gov, it ends up looking terrible and causes more frustration than anything else. I’m just wondering if anyone has any solutions before I start from scratch.

Thanks!

Cheryl
