At my previous institution (a PUI with about 10,000 students and about $17 million in sponsored funding), IRB chairs (not vice chairs) were given a course release
and a small amount of summer salary ($1,000 or so). Due to state budget woes, the course release was eventually cut, and the summer salary reduced.

Subject: [RESADM-L] IRB Chair Compensation
I am curious how other Universities/Colleges compensate their IRB Chairs/Vice Chairs? Do you give a course release, Summer Salary or both or none? Thank you all
