Coastal Carolina University seeks applications for the position of Grants Development Coordinator
(Grants Coordinator II) in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Services (OSPRS).
Responsibilities include: maintaining a comprehensive database of faculty research interests, scholarly and creative activities to identify opportunities
for proposals and performing funding searches in response to requests from faculty, staff or University administration; reviewing proposals and supporting documentation from PIs to verify compliance with sponsor guidelines as well as University, state and
federal regulations; coordinating with OSPRS staff, faculty, University staff and administration, and external collaborators on matters affecting proposal development efforts and the formation of proposal teams; developing and providing trainings, workshops
and resource manuals delivered in-person and online to all Colleges; updating information pertaining to changes in regulations, guidelines and requirements, and procedures for local, state, federal and foundation sponsors; creating comprehensive new proposal
files in OSPRS electronic grants management system and hard files including all proposal documents and related attachments; initiating, tracking and completing required signature chain for all proposal submissions and coordinating proposal submission readiness
with Principal Investigators and the OSPRS Director; following-up with sponsors on proposal submissions prior to award decisions and communicating with PIs, Directors, Chairs and Deans regarding the status of proposal submissions to coordinate corrections
or additional documentation needs; assisting the OSPRS Director to provide new faculty trainings; attending professional development meetings, conferences and workshops and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and related experience in seeking and writing grants for a university, nonprofit or government grants office are required.
Two (2) years of experience in seeking, writing and submitting grants for a university, nonprofit or government grants office is preferred. Public or private higher education, non-profit or government grant administration experience is also preferred. Experience
with state, federal and private sponsor electronic grants management systems preferred. Familiarity with University and federal regulations, policies, and procedures preferred. Familiarity with website update and maintenance preferred. Experience creating
materials and delivering training to adult learners preferred. Additionally, a successful candidate should possess outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; strong presentation, writing, and editing abilities; competency with Microsoft Office
products; the ability to establish good working relationships with University offices, federal, state and local agencies; and exceptional communication skills.
