Grants Pre-Award Coordinator

 

Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Managing Assistant Director for Research Development, the Grants Pre-Award Coordinator (Professional Services Specialist III) is responsible for proactively researching and identifying external funding opportunities that support faculty and faculty-student research, develop curriculum, enhance student success, aid recruitment and retention and support campus programming and community outreach. Working collaboratively with faculty, professional staff, deans and administrators, the Grants Pre-Award Coordinator researches and communicates grant opportunities on a daily basis; assists in preparing and submitting competitive proposals; develops and submits all foundation and corporate grant proposals for all colleges, schools, centers, institutes and outreach programs on campus; and does related work as required. This position requires travel as needed.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of successful grant-writing experience in education, higher education, a non-profit or government is required, including experience preparing budgets and reports. A Master’s degree, Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA) certification and success obtaining U.S. Department of Education and New Jersey Department of Education grant funding is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
