We are working with a faculty applicant who is participating in a collaborative project with another organization. They are applying for a Federal grant, where our faculty member would like to have two different roles on the project – she’d
be a co-investigator through the year (academic and summer salary) and then also be paid as a contractor for a different scope of work. We have not encountered this before and it doesn’t feel right, however, the applicant institution/lead
PI says they do this all the time. Does anyone have any guidance or experience to offer?
