Hi All,

 

I’m looking for insight on first-time negotiations with DHHS for an IDC rate agreement. We are in the final stages of our first rate agreement (short form). Is it the typical process now to setup a provisional rate first, and then follow-up with a “final” rate after further review and analysis? This is how it was explained to us by our assigned negotiator.

 

We were expecting to discuss our proposal and then arrive at a rate that would be good for the next four years, period – not a provisional first.

 

If anyone has recent experience with negotiating the first agreement, or even provisional rates I welcome any information you can share.
