Along these lines, does anyone have a policy or procedures related to crowdsourcing? Crowdsourcing (for my purposes) refers to using the crowd platform for gathering data instead of asking for funding.

We're considering allowing our faculty to post research projects on crowdfunding platforms and I'm looking for some information from those institutions that do this. Please note we're already using a platform for gifts and donations to the university via our Development office, so I'm not asking about that.
