Job Description
The Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences Service Center is looking for a high energy Grant/Senior Grant Administrator who will work as part of a customer-focused team providing research support to our faculty members. The Service Center supports over 90 Principal Investigators (PIs) across 17 departments totaling $18M in total research spending per year. The Grant/Senior Grant Administrator will be responsible for providing post-award support to a diverse population of PIs as well as be able to provide pre-award support as needed. This position will be assigned a group of faculty members with very active research labs that include complicated proposals and post-award support requiring an in-depth understanding of the regulations governing their spending (Uniform Guidance, sponsoring agency, award, etc.).
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for the fiscal management of grants and contracts in
accordance with government regulations, Uniform Guidance, sponsor requirements
and University policies and procedures, maintain data on applications and
awards.
* Work with departments in both consultative and supporting role to develop
systems and procedures to meet current and projected needs
* Serve as a primary liaison between faculty and their departments and the
Office for Sponsored Programs
* Develop strategies for outreach to faculty for education and strategic
support
* Work with faculty to develop proposals and manage the submission process as
needed
This position will also be involved with multi-disciplinary teams to review
research process, acting as a resource to other research staff, and joining the
A&S research leadership in advocating for support for research in A&S
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree is required.
* Senior Grant Administrator - 5 years professional level experience working
with sponsored research proposals and budgets
* Grant Administrator: 1 year professional and/or administrative experience
working with sponsored research proposals and budgets
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, team based, deadline oriented
environment.
Preferred
* Previous experience in a customer service environment
* Academic experience
* Master's degree for Senior Grant Administrator
