Subject: Elizabeth, participate in UIDP's Contracting Series

Dear Elizabeth:

I invite you and your colleagues to participate in UIDP’s comprehensive webinar series on contemporary issues and opportunities for effective negotiation of industry sponsored research agreements (ISRAs), beginning February 27, 2019.

The Contracting Webinar Series is strategically designed to offer seasoned and novice contracting professionals an opportunity to discuss a broad range of contracting issues. The basic sessions are specifically developed for researchers (industry bench scientists and students to full professors), administrators such as corporate and university relations professionals, and those new to ISRAs. The intermediate/advanced webinars will address in greater detail strategies being used in University-Industry negotiations to arrive at successful outcomes. Each 60-minute webinar will feature an academic and corporate presenter, a skilled moderator, and will allocate sufficient time for Q&A. When appropriate, presenters will use the UIDP Contract Accords or other UIDP documents to help participants understand the webinar topics. An outstanding set of presenters have been assembled, including:

• Steve Harsy, University of Arizona

• Mary Mansfield, UC San Diego

• Jennifer Ponting, Harvard University

• Yogesh K. Sharma, Novartis

• Stewart Tansley, Facebook

• Heather Walsh, Baxter International, Inc.

Each webinar will be held on a Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET. All sessions will be recorded and available for on-demand viewing after the live presentation.

UIDP members can purchase webinars individually ($100-$200 per webinar) or at the reduced package price of $900. We would encourage you to purchase a subscription and invite others from your organization to watch the presentations alongside you, discuss how your organization would normally negotiate the topics presented, and explore how you can use the learnings from the webinar.

Regards,

Anthony M. Boccanfuso, Ph.D.

UIDP President
