Subject: [RESADM-L] SAM.GOV renewal turnaround update
Yesterday I asked about the turnaround time for sam.gov renewal in light of the requirement to provide a notarized letter.
I just received email notification that my sam.gov registration has been activated.
I thought I’d pass along the time frame and steps:
1)
I sent the notarized letter via Express mail on Wednesday, May 16 and it arrived on Friday, May 18 (Yes, the US Postal Service was slow).
2)
I called the Federal Service Desk yesterday, Monday, May 20, to find out how long the turnaround time is. I was on hold about 45 minutes before I was helped. The FSD person told me two important things:
a.
I need to submit my sam.gov registration for the letter to be processed as part of a pending registration. Otherwise, the letter would be put aside. My sam.gov registration wasn’t due for renewal until early June and I didn’t realize
that processing my letter was dependent on a pending registration. So heads up (unless you all are savvier than me and figured that out)!
b.
Letters sent via Express mail (or equivalent I presume) are processed first among those that were received that day.
3)
I submitted my sam.gov registration yesterday, Monday, May 20.
4)
Today, Tuesday, May 21, I received notification from sam.gov that my registration has been renewed. I double checked on sam.gov to confirm.
I hope this helps anyone else in this situation.
Thanks for your comments yesterday!
Christine
