Dear Colleagues,

The Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University is seeking to fill an exciting position for a Director of Research Administration.  Please share this opportunity with those who may be interested:

The Director of Research Administration is responsible for developing and maintaining the research infrastructure for the Dornsife School of Public Health (DSPH) supporting, at the school-level, the research-related activities of faculty and student investigators. The Director also develops and implements special programs/initiatives intended to enhance the research enterprise at the School. Finally, the Director also serves as the School's senior staff liaison to the Drexel University Office of Research, Research Accounting Services, IRB, OGC and other central administrative units.

The DSPH is a research-intensive school, with one of the highest research revenue per faculty ratios in the University. The School has experienced tremendous growth in research activity over the last five years, which is expected to continue. The DSPH is comprised of four academic departments and one school-based center, all of which have designated business managers/grant administrators who handle the day-to-day research and business operations for their unit. The School Office for Research is comprised of the Associate Dean for Research, the Director of Research Administration, and a part-time Outreach Manager.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Research, the Director develops and implements policies and procedures, disseminates information, and provides expert consultation to insure that research administration processes in the School run smoothly, and that all staff involved in research support activities have the training and resources they need. Given the growth in research activity the School has experienced, the Director will also work with the Associate Dean for Research, and the rest of the School's leadership team, to assess organization of school-based research operations. In this spirit, the Director will also be responsible for ongoing quality monitoring and improvement around research operations.

Qualifications include Master's level training in Business, Administration or related field. Five or more years of experience in sponsored research, academic environment, or equivalent setting. Expertise in both pre-award and post-award aspects of sponsored research in the health sciences, including NIH, NSF and other major sponsors. Experience in contracts and grants management, regulation and compliance, and sponsored funding tracking and forecasting. Excellent skills in a range of software and office-based technologies related to proposal submission and grants management, including COEUS, the University's current pre-award system.

Supervisory experience and experience with Hyperion or another enterprise data reporting tool is desirable.
