The Office of Sponsored Programs Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Office of Sponsored Programs Information Systems to join our team. This position will work with the Executive Director, stakeholders within the Office of Sponsored Programs, leaders in ITS, and other areas of the Health Science Center, this individual will assist with developing strategies to optimize Sponsored Programs information systems needs, as well as oversee data management and reporting of Sponsored Programs data to the stakeholders such as the Vice President for Research, the President, the Cabinet, and through them to the Board of Regents and the Chancellor.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Defines vision for meeting current and future Office of Sponsored Programs data management challenges and technology solutions.

* Implements information technology solutions to support the needs of institutional research administration including compliance, portfolio management, work flow, data needs, including, but not limited to, presenting and demonstrating baseline software and then receiving and packaging of business requirements to send to software vendor for customization.

* Works with stakeholders in all areas of the UNTHSC to improve information systems' integration resulting in greater efficiencies and effectiveness of the institution.

* Leads implementation of new and existing functionality in EIS/PeopleSoft including, but not limited to, set up, conversion, documentation, query development and training of stakeholders.

* Strategic partner with business process owners throughout UNTHSC to understand the need and use of sponsored project data, and provide insight to improve the effectiveness, efficiencies and capabilities of the institution.

* Responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity of funding portfolio data in various information systems and generating routine and ad hoc reports from those systems for use by staff, faculty and administration.

* Mentors and/or provides coaching for the members of Office of Sponsored Programs on business intelligence solutions.

* Directly supervises Grants IT Manager

 

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
