Associate Grants Management Specialist:
This position will focus on obtaining specific training and knowledge in the financial management of grant awards, contracts and industry sponsored Clinical Trials. Responsible
for financial account management, analysis and reporting. Responsible for compiling all grant documents related to the development of a proposal to support the Program Directors and Principal Investigators. Ensures proper billing and invoicing of study/award
costs in order to maintain compliance in accordance with organizational guidelines, award policies and regulations.
Financial Management:
• Prepares complex budgets - including payroll projections
• Initiates establishment of cost centers for new grant awards
• Reviews awards, contracts and schedules and may lead grant initiation meeting
• Prepares and/or reviews all grant related documents associated with post award management
• Identifies and performs re-classes and journal entries on transactions if they are needed on grant cost centers
• Collaborates with other departments to resolve all issues related to grants
Contracts and Reports:
• Guides and facilitates faculty and staff in the development and preparation of research proposals, contracts, sub- contracts, and agreements, to include budgets, documentation,
and interpretation of funding requirements.
• May analyze and evaluate contract and grant budgets for correct calculation of expenditure categories such as salaries, percent of effort, salary adjustment increases, fringe
benefits, indirect costs, materials, and equipment
• Reviews and may approve all final G/L reconciliations and financial reports prepared by Central Grants Management Specialist
• Reviews Time & Effort reports
• Prepares and reviews monthly /quarterly Account Update reports with PI/PD
• May prepare reports for Manager and/or Director of OGSP as needed
