I wanted to share with you two stories from my June issue of Report on Research Compliance, which address a worrisome lack of enforcement by ORI and OHRP.

In the case of ORI, a voluntary settlement was reached since the article was published, so it went 10 months without a finding. OHRP has not issued any determination letters since October of 2016. Each agency has traditionally issued at least a dozen of these actions per year. The reasons for the slowdowns are different for each agency and began long before the current administration took office.
