BUDGET ANALYST/GRANTS

Loyola Marymount University’s Controller’s Office has an immediate opening for a Budget Analyst/Grants.  This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of grant accounting and administration in order to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations and timely and accurate reporting.

 

Primary responsibilities include reviewing and approving all financial transactions for research grants; researching, analyzing and preparing periodic financial reports/invoicing per funder requirements and deadlines; monitoring and reconciling related accounts receivable; monitoring payroll charges to grants; resolving discrepancies; and performing quarterly draw down of federal grants and student financial aid funds.

We seek candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other closely related field.  Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a business environment or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities needed.  Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.  Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and well developed organizational skills are required.  We also require candidates to have demonstrated computer competency and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Intermediate knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Oracle Financial, Longview and InfoEd grants management systems a plus.
