The Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) is seeking candidates to serve on its Board of Directors.  The Board is the governing body of the RACC, responsible for oversight of the administration of the organization, as well as the validity of its Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-award Research Administrator (CPRA), and Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) examinations. 

 

The term of office begins October 1, 2017 and continues for three years.  Members of the Board may serve no more than two consecutive three-year terms.

 

Newly elected Board members will be invited to attend the fall meeting of the Board, which will be held September 23-24, 2017, as a guest.

 

To serve, you are requested to be:

·        a Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-award Research Administrator (CFRA), or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA), and maintain the credential throughout the term of service

·        actively involved in research administration throughout the term of service

·        able to attend two meetings of the Board each year.  RACC will pay your travel costs (according to our travel reimbursement policy) for these meetings

·        able to meet by way of conference call or webinar (internet access required), when needed

·        able to sign the RACC Board Code of Ethics, Non-Disclosure Statement, and Conflict of Interest Statement.

The RACC is looking for committed Board members who are willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer time to the work of the organization.  Board members may be asked to serve on committees, review items and exams, present Body of Knowledge review sessions, etc., depending on the skills each member brings to the Board.

 

The deadline for nominations is May 19, 2017.  Nomination materials should be emailed to xxxxxx@racc-cert.org, and must include:

·        a letter indicating why you wish to serve on the Board and what contributions you believe you can make

·        a brief resume (4 page maximum) highlighting only those professional areas you think will be of benefit to RACC

·        a letter of reference from someone other than a current Board member.
