Tom,
I’m interested in this as well. To expand on your ask, we seem to have more interest recently for researcher exchanges where a company may host a university researcher on site and the university may host a visiting
researcher from the company to further collaboration between the entities. I would appreciate any sample agreements that anyone may have to address the same issues you mentioned as well as liabilities.
Thanks,
JoAnna

Subject: [RESADM-L] Visiting Scholars from private industry
Good morning!
I’m interested in hearing from institutions with experience in hosting “visiting scholars” from private industry. Can you share any agreements you have used that address intellectual property (often retained by the university unless previously
developed by industry, from what I’ve seen so far), yet allow the visiting scholar to freely disseminate her research results and collaborate with the university colleague on proposals, conference papers, etc.?
Happy Friday!
