Especially for my Illinois colleagues among grantee organizations:

We received information from one of our state funding agencies about implementation of the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA), and I wondered if any of you have received also communication about this – are any of your organizations responding to the invitation to participate in one of the GATA subcommittees?

Information we received is as follows:

What is GATA?
The
Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA), 30 ILCS 708/1 et seq., is landmark legislation that increases accountability and transparency in the use of grant funds and reduces the administrative burden on both State agencies and grantees through adoption of the federal grant guidance and regulations. Pursuant to this Act, the Grant Accountability and Transparency Unit (GATU) has been established in the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget; GATU is charged with implementation of the Act in coordination with State grant-making agencies and nonprofit organizations in Illinois.

GATA Updates

If you are a grantee from a nonprofit that would like to participate on one of the GATA Subcommittees, or if you have any comments, questions or suggestions, please contact xxxxxx@illinois.gov.
