Dear Colleagues,

The topic of graduate student compensation has been visited on this listserv before so please forgive me for asking again. Where do you draw the line between stipend and payroll compensation for graduate students funded by grants? How do you determine wheat is a stipend and what is payroll? Once you determined that it is a stipend, do you engage in certifying effort, require time sheets or collect any other documentation?

Thanks very much,

Zoya
