2015 North Carolina Chapter Annual Meeting

Call for Proposals

 

DEADLINE September 17, 2014

 

The North Carolina Chapter of SRA International is currently looking for informed subject

experts to speak at the 2015 annual meeting which will be held at the Embassy Suites Golf Resort & Spa -Charlotte/Concord, NC from March 9-11, 2015. This year’s meeting theme is “Going the Distance in Research Administration.”

 

Speaking at the annual chapter meeting provides excellent opportunities to increase exposure,

share learning experiences and network with other research administrators from around the

state.

 

Speaking proposals are being accepted for 75-minute concurrent sessions, half-day and full-day

workshops. We welcome fresh ideas and new speakers. There is no limit on the number of

proposals you may submit. Collaborative proposals are encouraged between public and private institutions, community colleges, agencies, and hospitals.

 

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

 

1.  Financial Management - cost accounting, financial conflict of interest, allocability and allowability…

 

2.  Professional Development - work/life balance, personal growth, leadership, self-assessment, office relationships…

 

3.  Sponsored Program and Research Development Administration – managing specialized programs, pre-award and post award…

 

4.  Management and Operations - strategic planning and mission development and compliance…

 

5. Research Law - intellectual property, patents and copyrights, international issues, data sharing…

 

6. Research Ethics - human/animal research, peer review, responsible conduct of research…

 

7. Sponsors and Agencies - agency updates, international agency relations, sponsor/agency rules…

 

Please submit a description of your proposed session and the name(s) and contact information

of presenter(s) to Kimberly McKoy at xxxxxx@uncw.edu on or before Wednesday, September 17,

2014. The description should not contain more than 30 lines (max. 500 words). Please be

aware that SRA is a volunteer organization and there is no reimbursement or stipend being

offered at this time.
