Subject: Career Opportunity: University of Florida - Assistant Director, Business Intelligence
The University of Florida is seeking an Assistant Director for Business Intelligence in the Division of Sponsored Programs. The Assistant Director for Business Intelligence will be responsible for reports and analysis on key performance
indicators for the University research enterprise including pre-award, post-award, program development and research compliance.
The Assistant Director for Business Intelligence will report directly to the Director, Division of Sponsored Programs in the Office of Research. However, he/she will function independently and consult with the Director on key issues and
problems that may have an adverse impact on the Division. The Assistant Director is expected to understand the business of research administration and university fiscal procedures, analyze institutional processes for additional key performance indicators,
coordinate reporting needs of campus stakeholders, and interface with projects where implementing business processes can be improved to support better data modeling and reporting needs.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicants should have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assist in identifying indicators and processes that might lead to improvements in those indicators. Able to communicate in a highly
technical environment – bridging the gap from functional to IT, to present information and data in ways that deliver the appropriate story to stakeholders and decision makers, and to move business forward in sustainable ways through the creation of portals,
dashboards, charts and reports. The candidate must have extensive experience in analyzing large data sets, communicating information and data needs to technical developers and developing reports to communicate information to stakeholders. To understand and
quickly apply these skills to our environment, individual should have five years or more of experience in an academic research institution or other research setting. The candidate must have a proven record of focus on and excellence in client service, integrity,
principles and strategies for client service. Knowledge of Click Commerce, PeopleSoft and SQL tools a plus.
Starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
