Has anyone heard or figured out if there are any changes to the new NIH AREA guidelines (PA-13-313)?

I looked over the new document and didn’t spot anything different… but I could have easily missed some nuances.

Thanks

Thanks to all  … it appears that the cart came before the horse.  Within an hour or two I was able to find links and the new package.  I have a faculty member who wants to get as much done as possible prior to the start of classes later this month and then just sit on the application until closer to the due date.  I do appreciate not having to rush at the last minute, but too at times creates problems.

Best,

Tracey

NIH has posted revised PA http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-13-313.html

and

application package on Grants.gov http://apply07.grants.gov/apply/opportunities/packages/oppPA-13-313-cidFORMS-C.pdf

Commons does not want you to  submit the application more than 30 days prior to the published deadline

Subject: [RESADM-L] NIH AREA?

Hi all,

I downloaded the NIH AREA (R15, PA-12-006) package from grants.gov last week, spent yesterday with a faculty member getting everything in order for her (yes, she is early).  Then this morning I receive the following message:

A grant opportunity you have previously downloaded from Grants.gov has been deleted.

National Institutes of Health will no longer be accepting applications for this opportunity:

                Opportunity Number: PA-12-006

Opportunity Title: Academic Research Enhancement Award (Parent R15)

                Competition ID : FORMS-C

                Opening Date: 09/25/2013

                Closing Date: 05/07/2016

I go to the program announcement on grants.gov and find that it has been replaced by PA-13-313, however, neither grants.gov or the NIH AREA program page has the new grant opportunity.  The NIH AREA webpage suggests “liking” them on Facebook for the latest updates.  So, I did and the last update/posting was in March.

Did I miss an announcement – which is highly likely as I no longer have much time to keep up with emails not directly related to what I’m doing at the moment.  Anyone else know anything about this?

Best,

Tracey
