My client, a large university in the Pittsburgh/West Virginia area, is seeking a grant administrator for the College of Engineering.

 

1)      This position will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of an infrastructure system to provide professional level administrative and budgeting support for both pre- and post-sponsored awards (grants and contracts) including:

a)     Proposal development and submission

b)     Performance (financial and activity) monitoring against award plans/budgets with recommendations for corrective action, if required

c)      Reviewing sponsor award documents to ensure compliance with applicable internal and external policies and procedures (e.g. allowability and appropriateness of expenditures, procurement and personnel administration)

d)     Proactively providing customer support for Principal Investigators at the college level

2)     Responsible for meeting with college-based investigators to help identify funding opportunities and establishing proposal budgets in a pre-award budget system

3)     Responsible for designing, monitoring and providing regular reports (financial and performance) to appropriate college personnel for sponsored projects and assisting with collection of records for audits and inquiries

4)     Oversee a college-based system to assist faculty with various tasks for the startup of new awards, including human resources, facilities, payroll and operations

5)     Knowledge of Circulars A-21, A-133 and A-110

 

The position requires a minimum of 4 years of grant administration and financial analysis experience in a higher education environment. A BS/BA is required and a MBA / MPA is preferred.
