Subcontract budget justifications are not included in the lead applicant budget justification. The subs have their own budget and budget justification. If they are a co-PI and principally subs are, they can link to the lead institution (should it be a collaborative) or if traditional the lead application would enter the sub budget and attach the sub budget justification in the budget pages in the application.

Subject: [RESADM-L] NSF budget justifications for subcontracts

Hi all,

How do you handle the NSF 3 page limit on all budget justifications when there are multiple subcontracts? For example, would you allow each subcontract very minimal space for their individual budget justifications to keep within the limit? Alternatively, would you combine all of the justifications in one document uploaded under the lead institution’s budget justification? I’m concerned that the proposal would then be non-compliant.

Thanks!

Thank you,
