The University of Oregon (UO) seeks a Sponsored Projects Administrator (SPA) to serve as a member of a team of professionals in the office of Sponsored Projects Services (SPS).  SPAs serve as an important resource providing guidance to the research community on issues related to the fiscal, administrative, and regulatory management of grants, contracts and sponsored projects from the application stage through close-out. In this position, there is a significant emphasis on customer service, proposal and budget development, financial monitoring and accounting, and operational reporting.  The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate and work effectively with, faculty, staff, and grantor representatives from a variety of diverse backgrounds and will maintain the highest ethical standards.

SPS reports to the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Graduate Education and serves as the central administrative office for grants and contracts, providing a full range of services from pre- to post- award including proposal and budget review and submission, to award administration and project close-out.  SPS is responsible for official grant accounting, billings and financial reporting.  The UO received $135 million in awards in FY10 with the majority of the funding coming from the federal government: Department of Health and Human Service/National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation and Department of Education.  Additional Information about SPS (formerly known as ORSA) can be found at http://orsa.uoregon.edu.

The UO is located in Eugene, a metro area (pop. 215,000) in a region noted for its dynamic quality of life and progressive cultural environment.  The UO, an AAU research institution and a member of the Pac-12 conference, has an enrollment of approximately 20,000.  Located 110 miles south of Portland, the UO is about an hour's drive from the Pacific coast and the Cascade mountain range.
