I wanted to piggyback on this request from Scott from last month.
Are there schools out there that have chosen to not have public websites for their Sponsored Research offices, and instead host the information only on sites for your own internal offices? How does this work for you? Have you felt any public pushback for
not having information readily accessible to those outside your institution?
Our institution has recently adopted a policy of minimal public disclosure on our website, for lack of a better term. If it does not have to do with PR, student recruitment, athletics, or alumni giving, it goes on our internal server. I'm curious if there
are others out there with similar policies. (This includes IRB and IACUC information).
Hey everyone,
One of my job duties is to manage our Office of Research and Sponsored Programs web site.
We are about to migrate to a new system, and we just got a new VP of Research who is interested in revamping our site. He thinks that it's too difficult to navigate, particularly for someone new to research.
I agree, and told him it's akin to explaining to someone on the street what we all do for a living - it's not always easy!
Does anyone have any examples of web sites that the think 'gets it right'? There's probably several ways to tackle this, but I'm just hoping for some ideas to get my creativity flowing.
Thanks in advance!
