Considerable experience in research administration and contract negotiation is necessary. | Job Specific Qualifications | COVER LETTER, RESUME AND A LIST OF THREE PROFESSIONAL REFERENCES MUST BE ATTACHED. | Job Responsibilities | | | 1. Facilitates and ensures compliance on contracts and grants supported by University's sponsors.
2. Applies a variety of policies and regulations to unique situations, articulates possible solutions or approaches to complex scenarios or situations and provides guidance to those preparing proposals or administering awards.
3. Maintains responsibility for tasks to be performed by setting priorities, analyzing proposals and awards and advising subordinates and peer staff on issues and about the priority of work to be done.
4. Develops proposal outlines, other support materials and authorizes paper and/or electronic applications.
5. Develops and reviews proposal budgets and other materials to ensure that proposals and awards confirm to University and sponsor policies. Revises budgets and/or proposals as required and ensures that associated records are prepared and/or maintained in a complete and timely manner.
6. Negotiates, initiates and prepares recommended language for contracts, sponsored research, and other associated agreements.
7. Supports OSP by independently performing duties which require special analyses as they relate to all facets of research administration, such as on-going control functions associated with monitoring and managing proposal or award transactions.
8. Has familiarity with and uses automated data systems to manage information required to generate sponsored programs-related reports.
9. Keeps informed about and appropriately applies new sponsor guidelines and regulations.
10. Performs other related duties, including the presentation of seminars and instruction about OSP functions.
11. May, as appropriate, supervise other OSP staff members. |
