No, they don’t. The PI
receives an auto-generated report each month that shows them what has been
expensed to the account. If they notice any problems they are supposed to
initiate a cost transfer to fix them. If we are on the receiving end of
the funding, however, the PI has to sign off before we will pay a subawardee.

invoices get sent to your PI first for approval before they are sent out to the
