ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ADMINISTRATION, INSTITUTE OF MOLECULAR BIOLOGY – UNIVERSITY OF OREGON

The Institute of Molecular Biology at the University of Oregon is currently seeking an Assistant Director for Administration. The Assistant Director is involved in all aspects of the Institute’s fiscal and administrative activities. This position oversees all finance, accounting and purchasing activities of the Institute; the development and preparation of the Institute’s annual budget involving state funds, special revenue funds, allotment of funds for administrative support; all pre and post award grant management and compliance matters, personnel activities; and facilities management. The Assistant Director serves as a resource to staff and faculty for research administration, financial analysis, financial management and budgetary control. The responsibility to monitor and enforce compliance with budget and financial policies is delegated to this position. The Assistant Director serves as the primary administrative liaison for the Institute, working with but limited to, the Business Affairs Office, Human Resources, Research Services and Administration, and the Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies. This position also provides policy and procedure direction to the Institute’s faculty and staff. The following education and experience is required:  a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, five years minimum experience performing accounting and financial tasks, five years minimum experience in grants management; three to five years experience in managing and supervising accounting staff.  More information about the Institute of Molecular Biology can be found at http://molbio.uoregon.edu.

 

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
