The majority of my faculty are on 11month appointments. We have some on 10. And some on 9. And some on 12. I haven’t seen any problems as it relates to research administration. We do have an internal guideline/policy that allows for the possibility of payment for “supplemental months” (12th month) salaries from grant activities.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Less than 12 month contracts
Hello,
I have what I hope to be a quick question with a very quick and easy response:
How many of your institution's have Faculty on "academic year" contracts of 10 and/or 11 month duration?
And has that been a problem for you?
Thanks,
Lori Johnson
