Short job description summary:

Provides comprehensive pre- and post-award administration of research proposals and awards. As the leader of a service team consisting of a Senior Grant & Contract Officer, a Grant Officer, and a Financial Analyst, guides research investigators & staff during proposal preparation & submission, award/contract negotiation, and post-award non-financial management of research projects. Resolves complex, sensitive, and other non-routine issues related to contract negotiation or administration. Serves as an information resource for the research community; conducts in-service training seminars; writes/revises policies and procedures.

 

Requires: Bachelor's degree in related area (Master’s degree a plus, but not required), and a minimum of 5 years, preferably 10,  direct related experience in a central administration office, or the equivalent; at least 1 year experience managing/supervising others. Extensive experience with pre- and post-award administration for research grants and contracts; current working knowledge of National Institutes of Health proposals, grants and contracts required, including electronic research administration. Certified Research Administrator desired (but not required), as well as experience with process improvement methods. Experience with PeopleSoft 8.4 (or higher) a plus, but not required.
