I have been running Windows 7 since early December and have submitted quite a few grants.gov packages without any problems. I use Acrobat Professional 9.1.2 to work in the packages.

Re: [RESADM-L] Windows 7 Compatibility issues

When we transitioned to Vista last year, I was able to keep a ‘spare computer’ in my office that was NOT upgraded (I keep an older version of Adobe there too). Several times I used it to submit via grants.gov, and it was a good solution. If we go to Windows 7, I will beg to hold on to the ‘spare.’

Re: [RESADM-L] Windows 7 Compatibility issues

I can’t speak to “known” compatibility issues, but I was not able to submit a Grants.gov application after my computer was upgraded to Windows 7. The Grants.gov help desk wasn’t able to assist me, but when I brought in my IT folks we think the problem we experienced was due to an automatic upgrade of Adobe Reader when the Windows 7 was installed. We uninstalled Adobe Reader and I’m just using (an older version) of Adobe Professional. I haven’t had an application to submit since then (I submitted the original application using another computer), but it looks like it will work. I’ve delayed upgrading other computers in my office until I can confirm I’m able to submit (I’m 99% sure it will work). I’ve not heard about other offices having problems though, so maybe it was a one-time problem.

Re: [RESADM-L] Windows 7 Compatibility issues

I’m interested in comments on this as well, since our office IT director mentioned at a staff meeting today that we’ll all be getting Windows 7, and I was concerned about potential compatibility issues with grants.gov as well…

Thanks!

[RESADM-L] Windows 7 Compatibility issues

Is anyone aware of any known compatibility issues with the various government and Windows 7? Our organization has begun to make the switch to Windows 7. Our pre-award department did not make the transition to Vista years ago due to the compatibility issues with Grants.gov.
