Duties and Responsibilities
Under administrative direction, the incumbent has primary responsibility for assisting the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) faculty and researchers in the development and preparation, of sponsored projects proposals to various
funding agencies. This includes: identifying prospective funding sources; assisting faculty in proposal preparation; developing complex budgets; resolving issues related to conflict of interest, cost sharing, subcontracting, and intellectual property; reviewing
proposals for compliance with sponsor requirements, assists ORSPA with administration of unit awards, advises and works with faculty to resolve sponsored projects management issues. This position works with the BHSE Business Manager, BHSE Assistant Director,
the Fulton Schools of Engineering Dean's Office, and Office of Research and Sponsored Projects Administration (ORSPA) staff to advise and instruct BHSE faculty and staff on appropriate guidelines and university policy and fosters a supportive environment to
increase the number and frequency of proposal submissions. Performs other duties as assigned.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience, in a field appropriate to the area/unit of assignment; OR, eight (8) years of related administrative experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which
comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of: Grants.gov and FastLane; sponsored proposal preparation strategies; complex budget development; search for funding opportunities; Federal Acquisition Requirements; querying database systems and producing reports.
Experience working with: developing and submitting proposals to multiple funding agencies, especially National Institutes of Heath (NIH) proposals and funding mechanisms, as well as National Science Foundation, Departments of Defense, local and federal agencies
and private foundations; analyzing and interpreting documents, reviewing and understanding requests for proposals and contracts; meeting deadlines for multiple projects; multitasking while producing accurate output; Microsoft Office; Adobe Acrobat; developing
and maintaining effective working relationships.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
