Hi,
There appears to be some confusion at our institution regarding the institutional base salary statement in 2CFR 220. While this regulation refers to a faculty member working on research activities that can not make more than their institutional base salary without overload pay in the academic year our situation is a bit different. We have full time, salaried grant funded individuals that are 100% charged to a sponsored program that are also teaching at the University and are interested in obtaining pay in addition to their sponsored salary for their teaching time. They are teaching in the evenings outside regular work hours and it is the assumption of others that since they are salaried 100% sponsor funding that they can not receive any additional income for this time because they can not make more than their institutional base salary. Can anyone address this or provide any other insight into this?
