Manager, Office of Sponsored Research and Pre-Award Compliance

The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is the central pre-award office of Seattle Children’s Research Institute, and the Manager is responsible for the following: administering the institutional and regulatory policies governing sponsored research activity conducted at Seattle Children’s to ensure that research is conducted in accordance with all applicable policies and regulations; providing institutional endorsement to all outgoing proposals for sponsored research funding; reviewing and negotiating (as necessary) the terms and conditions of all awards for sponsored research; and officially representing Seattle Children’s in all administrative matters relating to sponsored research.

 

Required:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field 

·         Minimum of three (3) years experience in central research administrative office in a management capacity,  OR five (5) years central institutional research administration experience 

·         At least three (3) years supervisory experience 

·         Detailed knowledge of current federal regulations applicable to research-related grants and contracts, including relevant OMB circulars, the Code of Federal Regulations, and Federal Acquisition Regulations

 

Preferred:

·         Experience working in a hospital setting

·         Experience with the production of large, complex reports

·         Certified Research Administrator

 

 

Sponsored Projects Officer

Responsible for providing grant management and administrative/fiscal support to Principal Investigators who are recipients of research grants, sub awards and internally funded projects. Serve as the single point of contact to Principal Investigators, ensuring compliance with the policies/regulations of the funding agencies and Seattle Children’s. Provide leadership in the development of the Office of Sponsored Research. Provide administrative review and provide/secure institutional approval of research-related proposals, project management elements, personnel issues, and procurement.

 

Required:

·         Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field

·         Minimum of two (2) years experience within the grants and contracts arena, including working on pre-award activities with the National Institute of Health, federal grants, and/or private foundation grants and awards

Preferred:

·         Certified Research Administrator
