Hi Rebecca, here's the pay range for Lab Technician's here.  This is salary for a full-time employee,  no tuition remission. 

Keep in mind, I am in Arizona, and the cost of living here is low compared to other places.

Rebecca,

I would look at comparable positions in the hospital.  Would this person also be going for an advanced degree?  If the research assistant would receive tuition remission, that would be part of the compensation.

Hello all,

 

I am working with a professor in our pharmacy college on an R01 renewal to which he has been added as a PI. 

 

He wants to include costs for a research assistant in the budget.  This person would have a bachelor’s degree. 

 

The university has not had anyone in a research assistant position, so I have no rate to compare. 

 

What would you folks say is the going rate for such a job?
