I am guessing there is something that was not compliant and there is probably a letter in the mail to you right now. NIH is sending the notification through mail and sending both the PI copy and the institution copy to the research office. We are then the “bearer” of the bad news…

Subject: [RESADM-L] challenge grants
Anyone else have this problem? One of my PI’s went to check on the status of their challenge grant application on Commons and it’s showing up as Withdrawn? Commons help desk told me to call CSR to find out why it’s withdrawn. We never withdrew it. I’ve left a message for CSR and emailed the Program officer. Thoughts?
