DIRECTOR, SPONSORED PROGRAMS

Job Description: Florida Atlantic University is actively growing the volume and stature of its research enterprise and has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, proactive, service minded, uniquely qualified individual to strategically direct the initiatives of our Office of Sponsored Programs. As a senior executive within the leadership team of the Vice President for Research, the Director of Sponsored Programs will serve as an expert and leader in the delivery of research administration services and programs that positively impact research programs across the University. The Director of Sponsored Programs will play a critical role in facilitating the expansion of FAU’s research activities and will be responsible for planning and assisting the Vice President for Research in the creation, coordination, implementation and management of sponsored research programs and activities. The individual hired for this position will also work closely with academic leaders, faculty and staff across campuses to create an environment and processes that facilitate the University’s continued commitment to research excellence.

 

Job Skills, Knowledge and  Abilities:  Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree and six years of related experience or a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience. Upper-level pre-award administration management experience in a public university or in a non-profit environment is preferred. Supervisory experience is also preferred. Must possess an in-depth knowledge of electronic research administration such as GrantsERA and Grants.gov. Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to team build. Knowledge or familiarity with all compliance issues including OMB Circulars, IRB, IACUC and export control is desirable. Must have experience directly administering federal grants.  Certified Research Administrator certification is preferred, and must be active in one or more related professional organizations.

 

Salary Information: $85,000 - $118,000
